Beatrice Wollenmann

Beatrice started freediving 2019. After dozens of years of doing only non-sportive sports like scuba diving or paragliding, her favourite discipline was static breath hold โ€“ doing nothing for as long as possible corresponded to her fitness back then. However, with consistent training under the guidance of Jonathan Chong and motivated by the community of Singapore Freediving Academy, she managed to level up and achieve a Swiss national record in bi-fin distance diving (DYNB) before the end of that year.

Beatrice continued to not only improve her own performance, but gain broader experience by becoming CMAS freediving judge and SSI pool instructor, and contributing to competition as a Head of Safety. Hereby she also profits from her experience in other disciplines, like competing in paragliding competitions, or initiating the Swiss participation at the International Mathematical Olympiad, where she had achieved a bronze medal and was responsible for the Swiss training and participation for ten years.

Beatrice is fascinated by the personal journey she experiences with freediving, which took her performance beyond what she thought would be achievable for her. She loves to contribute to the freediving community, and to share her knowledge and experience with newcomers in trainings and freediving courses.
